Objectives

Language makes us human and literature is Humanity in print. The department is led by Dr. Palani Kumar M.A (ENG)., M.A(TAM)., M.Phil., MBA.,Ph.D.,D.litt (Hon) with faculty strength of 19. The department of English, impart a holistic outlook to the study of language and literature. It offers B.A English and M.A English courses. Ever since its inception in 1989- 90, the English department plays a significant role in helping students to communicate in English. The bridge courses and soft skills training programmers have provided the necessary impetus to overcome the language difficulties of students hailing from rural areas. Providing space for optimum growth of talents the department continues “To strive, to seek, to find and not to yield”

Association

The English literary association “ZELOS” is an empowerment endeavor on the part of the English department to hone the language and literary skills of the students. The association is a platform that encourages a display of inherent talents. Zelos serves as a theatre of expositions that organizes intra and inter- departmental competitions. Zelos, the literary magazine bears the testimony to the creative zeal of both the students and the faculty members.
